America is the homeland of all oversized things like the Big Lighthouse in Buxton, the Big Basket in Columbus, the Big Stadium in Ann Arbor, and many more. Let’s admit it… all giant things in our country make us incredibly proud, especially when one sees how crazy-amazing they might be.
Our engineers created a giant window well that makes our team so proud! We would put this massive product on the list of Big Things to See in America right next to the Big Twine Ball in Salina or the Big Sundial in Phoenix.
This jumbo-sized basement well is made by a special request from our customer. He needed a metal well for a larger-than-usual space. The well needed to be big enough to secure the area in front of three basement windows placed right next to each other.
If you know even a little about egress wells, you might ask yourself, “Why didn’t he build a concrete one or any other construction material?” Well, let’s say he had specific requirements, and nothing but a galvanized steel well was the best solution for this case.
Galvanized steel is among the most popular steel types because of its extended durability, strength, and formability of steel plus the corrosion protection of zinc galvanization. With galvanization, a piece of industrial steel is expected to last more than 50 years in average environments and can last over 20 years with severe water exposure.
Actually, the solution was not that complicated but very exciting. This enormous well is constructed from three large ones, sealed together by our team. This egress window well is 96 inches wide, 36 inches projection, and 76 inches tall, and made from 16 gauge galvanized steel.
